MERGING LEADERS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (ELD)

The Emerging Leaders Development Program is a collaborative effort among El Pomar, community leadership development programs, and ethnic minority-focused community organizations. Through this program, ethnic minority emerging leaders receive leadership skills training, and are presented opportunities to become involved in broad-based community activities, civic engagement and service on nonprofit boards and commissions. El Pomar scholarships enable these individuals to participate in programs offered by noted leadership development organizations in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.

In 2005, as an extension of the Emerging Leaders Program, El Pomar established the Milton E. Proby Cultural Heritage Room at Penrose House. This room is dedicated to preserving and documenting the contributions of African-American, Asian, Hispanic/Latino and Native American individuals from Southern Colorado. Reverend Proby was one of the first civil rights leaders to have profound influence in the campaign for equality in southern Colorado.

2009 Colorado Springs/Pueblo ELD Participants Quality of Life Survey

On behalf of El Pomar Foundation's Emerging Leaders Development (ELD) Program staff, we want to thank the ELD Participants for your participation and support.  We have had a very productive year which includes a record number of participants attend the advisory council meetings, scholarship recipients/graduates of community leadership development programs, complete ELD Leadership skills and Board Governance Workshops and ELD participants that volunteer for the outreach to high school students (ELD MYLI Summit)

In order for the Foundations' ELD program staff remain relevant with efforts to convene, empower, network with the broader community and support outreach activities that address quality of life issues for the communities of color, we ask that you take five minutes and complete the following survey.  The results of the survey will help the Foundation plan for 2009.

Thank you.
